While this concept is great, it fell a bit short. This is only a disappointment to me because it’s billed as being co-written by Neil Gaiman, who has always before been able to cross that line into cross-demographic appeal. I am not sure. These sections however, full of information about Interworld and the Altiverse felt a little too blatant attempt neip give readers information, especially considering that we’ve already got a point of view character who will need to learn this information as time progresses.

The other Joeys were only interesting due to their multidimensional differences – there’s the chick with wings or the Indian-floating-one – faiman other than that, they had absolutely nothing under their skin. I don’t doubt Reeves helped flesh out this world and it’s ideas.
We dash between huge story arcs that I barely have time to adjust to the new scene and set of rules before we are off to the next – intetworld feels so rushed and nothing is fleshed out. In this novel, Joey continues to struggle to find his place within the InterWorld organization, as he is still blamed for the death of a popular team member.
Why all the nonsensical quantum mechanical mumbo jumbo when there’s magic in the book? Despite that, I did enjoy reading this novel.
